IHP values personal attention and prevention and has chosen to limit the number of patients to 600 per physician. This allows each physician to deliver personalized medical care focused on prevention and wellness, backed by early detection, state of the art equipment and condition management.

This approach to internal medicine cannot be offered in most traditional primary care practices. A physician in a typical practice of 2,500 patients could not provide a comprehensive annual physical examination to all patients, as to do so would require approximately 2,500 hours, or one full year of full time work. In that case, a physician would have no time available to deliver any care to patients other than the physical examination. By limiting the number of patients per physician IHP has created time for each physician to provide both extensive preventative and wellness care and treatment of acute and chronic illness.

Statistics show that by actively participating in prevention the average patient can reduce their illnesses by 50 – 80% even in their Whiteen years.
